VACHERIE, La. – St. James played three games away from home to start their season, but the Wildcats had a tough task for their home opener: hosting 4A powerhouse Edna Karr and LSU commit Aaron Anderson.
Anderson made his presence felt on the opening kickoff. The wide receiver took the return 99 yards for a touchdown.
St. James responded and stayed toe-to-toe with Karr for most of the first quarter, when the game was tied 14-14, but the Wildcats’ two touchdowns were the last of their scoring efforts.
The Cougars scored 52 unanswered points and beat the Wildcats 66-14.
