Ride Along : Week 8 Catholic High

High School Football

BATON ROUGE – A new head coach, no problem for Catholic High. The Bears picked up right where they left off in 2020 with David Simoneaux taking over the reigns for Gabe Fertitta.

Now in week 8, No. 1 Catholic (7-0) will try to stay perfect on the year as they host St. Amant (5-1) Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

The Bears are coming off a dominant 66-6 win over McKinley while the Gators are looking to bounce back after falling to Woodlawn, 48-41. CHS has outscored their opponents 279-95, but St. Amant’s offense isn’t lacking in production either. The Gators have scored 264 total points in 6 games, so don’t be surprised if it’s a shootout at Memorial Stadium.

I caught up with Catholic’s Offensive Coordinator Zack Morris and Defensive Coordinator Devin Decote for this week’s Ride Along.
