BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — No. 22 seed St. Augustine proved to be too much for No. 11 seed McKinley in the first round of the playoffs, ending the Panthers season with a 43-6 win Friday night.

The Purple Knights pitched a first half shutout and limited McKinley to only a handful of first downs. With less than four minutes left to play in the third quarter, the Panthers broke their scoring drought with a Tyson Camel touchdown pass to Deontae Camel to make it 31-6.

Senior wide receiver and Tulane commit Joshua Jackson finished with three touchdown passes to lead the Purple Knights receiving corp.

St. Augustine earns just their fourth win of the season, and they’ll face John Curtis in the second round next Friday night.
