WATSON, La. (BRPROUD) — The Walker Wildcats scored early and often in a 41-16 win over the Live Oak Eagles.
The Wildcats wasted no time finding the endzone when quarterback Troy Sylve connected with Jamari Evans on a screen play. Evans was off to the races, going 85 yards to the house, to put Walker ahead, 6-0, after a missed PAT.
Walker, then, went to the ground game, scoring again in the first quarter on a Clyde McClendon touchdown run that made it, 13-0.
Then, the Walker defense began to show off when Jakyrin Johnson picked off Live Oak quarterback Cayden Jones.
The Walker combo of Sylve and Evans connected again for a touchdown in the second quarter to put the Wildcats up, 20-0.
With the win, Walker moves to 3-0 in District 5-5A and 7-1 overall. Live Oak falls to 1-2 in district play and 3-4 overall.
