BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A new HBCU bobblehead collection has been released and features Southern University’s mascot, Lacumba.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released a second series of HBCU bobbleheads that features 14 different schools for the start of the 2023-24 football season.
Other schools include Albany State, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, Clark Atlanta University, Coppin State University, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, Florida A&M University, Morehouse College, North Carolina A&T University, Prairie View A&M University, South Carolina State University, Virginia State University, and Winston-Salem State University.
“We’re excited to be expanding the HBCU Bobblehead Collection with the addition of 16 additional bobbleheads,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “The first series was extremely popular and led to requests for several more schools and mascots. We know these bobbleheads, which celebrate the rich history of these amazing institutions, will be very popular with the alumni, students, faculty, staff, fans, and communities.”
Each bobblehead will feature the mascot standing on a baseboard with the school’s nickname across the front, wearing the school’s colors.
The bobbleheads are priced at $35 each plus a $8 shipping charge. Each school will get a percentage of sales from their bobblehead. Purchased bobbleheads are expected to arrive between the day of purchase and December, depending on the school.
