LSU Football has continued the tradition of honoring team leaders with the No. 18 jersey by naming the two Tigers who will have the honor of wearing the prestigious number this season.

On the night players reported to school to start fall camp, outside linebacker K’lavon Chaisson and center Lloyd Cushenberry, III* were both announced as the players who will follow in the footsteps of some elite former Tigers including Matt Mauck, Jacob Hester, and Tre’davious White.

Each year, the football team votes on which player will get the honor of wearing the jersey which has come to represent success both on and off the field as well as a selfless attitude.

Last year was the first year two players wore the number when the team picked defensive lineman Christian LaCouture and fullback J.D. Moore.

*Note: due to his position as an interior lineman, he will be unable to wear the No. 18 jersey in game action; his No. 79 jersey will be accompanied by a No. 18 patch. (per LSU Athletics)
