BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An LSU running back was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday, Oct. 23.

LSU freshman running back, Trey Holly, earned the honors after rushing for 91 yards on six carries in LSU’s 62-0 win over the Army Black Knights on Saturday night.

According to LSU Athletics, Holly capped off his debut for the Tigers against Army scoring on a 67-yard touchdown in the final minutes of the game. The run capped off a great night for the Tiger offense as it was the fourth straight game, they have rushed for over 200 yards.

Holly becomes the sixth LSU football player to earn SEC weekly honors as quarterback Jayden Daniels has been named the offensive player of the week in the conference three times. Wide receiver Malik Nabers and offensive lineman Emery Jones have also earned weekly honors from the SEC, according to LSU Athletics.

According to LSU Athletics, Holly shared this week’s SEC Freshman of the Week honors with Ole Miss linebacker Suntarine Perkins.

LSU is on the bye week but will be back in action when they take on Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 6:45 p.m.
