BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The LSU Tigers and Florida Gators are set to tangle in Tiger Stadium this weekend.

The Tigers enter the game with a record of 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the SEC after a 42-28 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide. LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was responsible for 382 total yards and three touchdowns prior to leaving the game with an injury.

Prior the the matchup with Florida, LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke with the media.

When talking about the loss to Alabama, Kelly said he was “proud of the way we competed.” He said, “You have to be elite on the road. You have to be elite to beat teams like that and we’re certainly not there yet, but we’re closing the gap.”

Kelly was asked about Daniels’ condition. He said that he “would consider him day-to-day.” When asked about the play where Daniels was hurt, Kelly said, “Certainly there was a penalty on the play. You know, targeting is looked at by the replay officials.” He confirmed that the play was sent to the league office by LSU.

The LSU head coach talked about the defensive effort against Alabama. Kelly said that if they could have done one thing differently coaching-wise, it would have been to employ a spy technique.

Kelly was asked about how the team can avoid a letdown after the loss to Alabama. You can see his answer in the video player above.
