BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The LSU Tigers defeated the Florida Gators 52-35 on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels accumulated 606 total yards and LSU ran its record to 7-3. Next up for the Tigers are the Georgia State Panthers. The Sun Belt team lost its third straight game on Saturday and fell to 6-4 on the season.
Head coach Brian Kelly took questions and talked about the games against Florida and Georgia State during a news conference noon Monday, Nov. 13.
Kelly began by praising the environment at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night. He then highlighted the “incredible individual performance” by quarterback Jayden Daniels against Florida. Daniels was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
Kelly was asked about what makes Daniels a leader. He said, “approachable, and when I say approachable, I mean, he’s never been a guy that has built a bubble around himself.”
“His demeanor, his personality, you see him smiling on the sideline all the time, that’s the way he is whether he’s in meetings, or whether he’s in the football building, he has that personality and I think it’s infectious,” said Kelly.
The LSU head coach spoke about Georgia State. He said that the team comes in “with nothing to lose, everything to gain.”
Kelly confirmed that running back John Emery has an ACL tear and is out for the season. The LSU head coach also spoke about LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers and his candidacy for the Biletnikoff Award. You can see what Kelly said in the video player above.
