New Visit Baton Rouge marketing campaigns targets Tiger fans in Ohio


Ahead of the national championship game that will be held in New Orleans, our local Visit Baton Rouge Organization is making a push
to get Tiger fans in Ohio, Joe Burrow’s hometown to get hyped for the Tigers in Baton Rouge.
NBC Local 33’s Crystal Whitman has more on the billboard that has everyone seeing purple and yellow.

The environment around the LSU Tigers victories this season is electric and spreading across the country.

“Baton Rouge is being mentioned in news and sports everywhere. I think LSU has become America’s team and certainly
with the excitement and winning and going into the championship we are getting calls and contacts through our internet from all
over the country,” says Paul Arrigo, President & CEO of Visit Baton Rouge.

Arrigo says as thousands of fans cheer the Tigers on, there’s been a continued growth of Tiger fans in Athens Ohio, Joe
Burrow’s hometown.

“What really turned us on was the watch party that they had for the Heisman. So we put together the campaign welcome to the land of
“Eaux”. Visit the land of O….Ohio,” Arrigo says.

The tourism campaign hopes to net more growth in Baton Rouge as a sports destination.

Our sports team will have team coverage of the big national championship game on January 13th.
