Transfer QB BeSean McCray was named the starter heading into fall training camp. Yet as Coach Eric Dooley noted at SWAC Media Days, and Quarterbacks Coach Jonathon Williams now reiterates at camp, the starting role for the season opener is still up in the air.

The fast tempo offense brings a lot of opportunity for whoever ends up under center. It’s allowed for the quarterbacks’ own individual talents to shine throughout camp.

As far as understanding the new scheme, Williams says they are all at the same level.

There’s less than a month to go before the Jags first game against Florida Memorial. One signal caller will have to rise amongst the rest to take the first snap. Until then, expect the competition to make the group as a whole continue to get better.
