BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The LSU Tigers are 0-1 after losing to Florida State, 45-24 on Sunday, Sept. 3. The Tigers are preparing for their first home game of the season against the Grambling State Tigers on Saturday, Sept. 9.
The game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. This will be the first time that LSU and Grambling meet on the football field. On Tuesday, Sept. 5, LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke with the media at a news conference.
Kelly recapped the Florida State game at the outset of the news conference. He said, “nobody from LSU fan base should be happy with that performance. I’m certainly not, we’re disappointed.”
In the video player above, you can hear Coach Kelly elaborate on the comments he made about how “this is not the team I thought it was.”
“This is about a full team coming together and delivering their best when their best is needed and I did not have them delivering their best when their best was needed,” said Kelly.
Kelly then went over the upcoming matchup against Grambling State. He said that “our team is excited about getting back out there and playing the game the way it’s intended to be played for four quarters, not for two quarters.” Kelly spoke about head coach Hue Jackson and some of the players on his Grambling State team.
