BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A challenge very few can understand is the one Brienne Husser has handled for the last four years.

She’s not a regular student and has been in the Early College Option program where she’s already completed four years of high school in two years and is currently in her second year of college.

“Personally it was a lot. It was challenging because it was a lot because your mentality has to be a certain way. You’re kind of forced to grow up a little bit faster and have a mature mentality because everything moves fast” said Brienne Husser.

Brienne has been able to balance the workload of being a full-time student and a hostess after school while maintaining a 4.3 GPA.

Brienne will study Psychology at Southeastern Louisiana University. Her interests stem from her parent’s divorce when she was younger.

“My parents’ divorce impacted me. I eat whenever I’m nervous now, which is a horrible habit to have. And if I can stop that from somebody else or try to tell a kid or the person impacted that it’s okay. It’s going to be okay” said Husser.

And she hopes her helping others can provide some healing for herself.

“I want to go into the Psychology field so not only can I help them, but they will help me in return because now I will know that it’s okay to show a little emotion and to give and take a little,” said Husser.
