BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 2021 hasn’t started off on a good note as the Baton Rouge Police Department has been investigating several homicides.
According to officials the latest record as of January 19th, there were a total of six homicides, but with the recent violence over the weekend, that number has grown to about 10.
Sergeant Don Coppola says on January 19th, 2020, the total number of homicides was five.
The department has been very busy and they say one homicide is one too many.
Chief Murphy Paul has stated in the past if you see something, say something in hopes of preventing a crime from happening.
There was an arrest made in the recent homicide on Larkspur, but there are still several that the department needs the public’s help.
