Catholic High School senior Nicholas Fanguy, of Baton Rouge, La., was selected as a candidate for the 2020 United States Presidential Scholars Program.
The program aims to honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The selection of around 4,500 program candidates will be narrowed down in April to 161 U.S. Presidential Scholars. U.S. Presidential Scholar is one the the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
Last fall, Fanguy was also named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, a title given to less than one percent of high school seniors.
Fanguy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith and Marissa Fanguy of Baton Rouge, La.
