Today: We’ll start with dry and mostly sunny conditions, but storms will begin to move into the area this afternoon. Storms will be scattered, and rain is expected to be light to moderate. Temperatures will be near average with highs in the lower 90s, but it will be steamy with heat indices near 100. Winds will be easterly at 5-10 mph. High near 91.
Tonight: Early showers are possible, but skies will be partly cloudy after the showers pass. Winds will be light out of the east. Low near 75.
Extended: Storms will continue through the weekend, and we could be looking at an inch of rain in most areas. A second wave will move into the Gulf, and it will be a little stronger than the wave that we are currently monitoring. This will bring additional rain to the region starting early next week. By the end of the next seven days, we could see around three inches of rain and higher amounts along the coast. Flash flooding will be a concern, so be sure to stay weather aware. Throughout the next seven days, highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
