Visit Baton Rouge calling on locals to visit Capitol City and hel BR “recover”, by “rediscovering” all it has to offer

Baton Rouge, LA (NBC 33/ Fox 44)

We’re almost a week into Phase 2 reopening in Louisiana…and while many businesses are beginning to rebound, others are still struggling.

Take local hotels for instance.  Officials with the Baton Rouge Lodging Association say they’ve seen a slight uptick in business over the last few weeks.  They’ve gone from averaging 12-to 15 percent occupancy to now close to thirty percent.  While events like the USS Kidd’s Fourth of July celebration have been cancelled, Visit Baton Rouge is pushing to get more locals into our city.

“We’re encouraging people within driving distance to spend a couple days in Baton Rouge with your family and friends,” Visit BR’s Paul Arrigo told us. “Invite some out of town friends and family to come down, and let’s really kick this community back off to where it needs to be.”
