Monday Morning Forecast for Baton Rouge 10-9-23

Happy Monday everyone. Well we had absolutely beautiful weather for this weekend and that will continue for today. Highs will be in the low 80s and skies will remain mostly clear. Our weather will change in the coming days. Winds will become more S/SW today and that will bring in more moisture to our area. The increase in moisture over the next couple of days will allow clouds to return and help rain chances to increase as well. High pressure is still over our area this morning, but as that moves east, that'll allow more southerly wind flow. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, but still dry. There's an area of low pressure in the Gulf that will continue moving north towards the coast by Wednesday. As it moves, it'll continue bringing tropical moisture to the area. Showers could begin as early as late Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday. Rain chances will decrease near the end of the week. With heavy rainfall expected for Wednesday, our area is under a flood risk for that day. A marginal risk for flooding covers the Greater Baton Rouge area and a slight risk is in place for areas closer to the coast. The next cold front will move in on Friday and that'll bring cooler and drier air back to our region again. Thanks for watching. Have a magnificent Monday!
