Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your forecast. Today will be cool, cloudy and rainy. There's a 70% chance of showers for today for the Greater Baton Rouge area with higher rain chances south of us and along the coast. A low pressure system will continue tracking north towards the Gulf Coast, but it's not expected to move onshore. The core of the system will stay south of us. Coastal areas will receive more rainfall than areas further inland. The system will move away from us later today and showers will clear out this evening and later tonight. A wind advisory is in effect from 1pm until 7pm today for Iberia, St. Martin, St. Mary, Vermilion and Cameron parishes. Terrebonne, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. John and other parishes near the GNO area will be under the wind advisory until 6am tomorrow morning. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for Tangipahoa, Livingston and St. Tammany parishes from 7pm tonight until 4pm Thursday. A coastal flood warning is in effect for parishes within the GNO area. Tomorrow and Friday will be drier days. The next cold front will move through on Friday and then we'll have cooler and pleasant weather again for this weekend. Highs will be near 80 for Saturday and in the mid to upper 70s for Sunday through Tuesday. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 50s for Saturday and Sunday nights.
