There is a 20% chance for rain on Mother’s Day with a high near 87°F as a cold front begins to approach from the northwest. Rain chance will increase Sunday night and into Monday. Some storms may be on the strong side late Sunday or early Monday. The SPC has placed areas northwest of Baton Rouge under a Marginal Risk for severe weather late Sunday through early Monday.
Monday: Next week looks a bit unsettled as a cold front moves in and stalls out. There will be passing disturbances, which will trigger rounds of rain. For now, we are forecasting a 60% chance for rain Monday.
Tuesday & Wednesday: More rain is expected. Heavy rain will be possible. Currently, there is a 60% chance for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid 80s then lower 80s.
Thursday: We start to dry out and by the end of the work week. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s. Rain totals over the next 7 days look to be 1-3″ with locally higher amounts.
