StormTracker Team Forecast…Cold front number one has passed and it’s much cooler and brisk this morning. You can expect cloudy skies and temperatures in the 40s and 50s. The north wind will continue to usher in the colder air and with the cloud cover, we will likely not get out of the 50s this afternoon. Bundle up if you’re headed out on the town or cheering on your high school football team this evening. Evening temperatures will be in the 40s. Temperatures will continue to fall and skies will clear. Morning lows will bottom out in the mid and upper 30s. Some areas will only bottom out in the lower 40s.
It will be a chilly start to Saturday and Sunday morning, but the weekend will be gorgeous! We will stay dry and we will see plenty of sunshine. Highs will top out in the mid 60s on Saturday and around 70°F on Sunday. This is all ahead of cold front number two, which will likely bring the first freeze of the season to our area.
Showers can be expected on Veterans Day with rain ending early Tuesday morning. Temperatures by Tuesday morning will be in the 30s, but not below-freezing. We could see some cold rain and sleet mixed together as moisture is leaving the area, but no impacts are expected. Daytime temperatures will only be in the 40s. Model guidance shows Wednesday morning temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s. If this occurs, we would see our first freeze of the season. It’s good to make preparations, should this occur. Be sure to protect any vegetation, plants, and most importantly, your pets. Temperatures should gradually warm into the lower 50s on Wednesday and mid-50s on Thursday. Stay tuned for changes!
If you’re heading up to Tuscaloosa for the big LSU vs Alabama game this weekend, be sure to pack for cold weather! There is a Freeze Warning in effect for central Alabama as temperatures are forecast to drop at or below-freezing Friday night and Saturday morning. Tailgating time will be chilly with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, but you won’t have to worry about rain! Kickoff temperature will be in the upper 50s, but that’s the warmest it will be, so again, dress accordingly because it will only get chilly again – temperatures will drop into the 40s toward the end of the game.
