StormTracker Forecast…Thanks to yesterday’s front, we are not waking up to dense fog this morning! Also, it’s less humid and cooler this morning. The drier air has not cleared us out, but the next front will help clear us out toward the second half of the weekend. You can expect cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 60s to around 70°F today. Also, drizzle will be possible for some areas.
As the next system enters the region, the chance for showers will increase overnight and into Saturday. We will be dodging showers during the morning hours before rain coverage becomes more scattered to numerous during the afternoon and early evening hours. We are not expecting severe weather and rainfall amounts should be light. All in all, bring the rain gear with you to the LSU Championship celebration on campus.
When you’re waking up on Sunday morning, it will be much cooler — temperatures will be in the 40s! Sunday will be brighter and cooler. High temperatures will be in the mid-50s. As we head into MLK Jr Day and the work-week, it will be even cooler as a series of fronts pass through the region.
We will likely be waking up to freezing/near-freezing temperatures on Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. A light freeze can be expected — be sure to make preparations for animals and plants.
