Weather

StormTracker Morning Forecast…

A trough, a front draped over the Southeast, and deep tropical moisture will lead to higher rain chances starting today and lasting through the 4th of July weekend. In fact, the front may stall out over our area. If this occurs, training thunderstorms will be a concern today and at times this weekend.

Friday: Rain chance is around 70%. Heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty wind will be the main concerns with storms that fire up. Storm motion will likely be from north to south, which means that these storms will have the potential to be on the strong side. Although organized severe weather is not anticipated, an isolated severe storm or two will be possible. Heavy rain could lead to some nuisance flooding. Rain will likely begin to develop by midday and will be off and on through the evening. High near 92°F. Heat index values between 103°F-108°F.

Tonight: Evening storms should taper late in the night, although a few lingering showers will be possible overnight and through the morning. Low near 74°F.

4th of July/Saturday: Showers and storms are likely at times, but more so during the afternoon and evening. Rain chance is currently at 60-70%, but may need to be adjusted higher. It should not be a total washout, but if you have outdoor plans, have your “plan b” ready to go.
