StormTracker Morning Forecast…
Today: Some patchy fog this morning. Clouds and sun today with highs in the low and mid 90s. Rain chance is currently around 20%. High near 94°F.
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy. Overnight temperature near 76°F.
Saturday: A weak front will pass through our area before stalling out to our south in the Gulf. Rain chances will likely increase a bit, but it won’t be a total washout. Rain chance is around 30-40% for now. Best chance for rain looks to be west of Baton Rouge. Either way, have a plan b ready just in case a storm finds you. High near 94°F. Overnight temperature near 73°F.
Sunday: Sun and clouds as the aforementioned front stalls in the Gulf. It won’t be as humid on Sunday thanks to the front – we’ll take it! Rain chance is around 20% for now. High near 93°F. Overnight temperature near 72°F.
Labor Day: Scattered showers and storms. Rain chance is around 40%. High near 93°F.
Tuesday: Rain chances increase ahead of a cool front. Rain chance is around 40-50%. High near 90°F.
Wednesday: Rain chance is around 60%. Another front will try and push this far south on Wednesday and into Thursday. If it does dip this far south and push to our south into the Gulf, it could bring us a nice break from the high heat and humidity. Instead of highs in the 90s, it could bring us highs in the 80s and cool overnight lows in the 60s. For now, models are not agreeing on how far south it will pass. The GFS shows a cooler pattern, whereas the European keeps our area hot with no relief in sight. Fingers crossed for a cool down! For now, we are splitting the difference with highs in the mid and upper 80s Thursday & Friday.
Tracking the Tropics: Four tropical waves in the Atlantic have our attention. One wave is located just off the coast of Africa. It will have to be watched, but there is plenty of time for that. The two other waves both have a medium chance for formation. A small wave has a low chance for formation. Next few weeks have the potential to be very active. Next name on the list is Paulette then Rene then Sally.
