Today: Laura is now a tropical depression and is losing its tropical characteristics as it continues to weaken and lift to the north toward the central United States. We are still dealing with some residual tropical moisture associated with Laura. Scattered to possibly numerous showers and storms are expected today. Rain chance is around 60-70%. Otherwise, partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s to around 90. Some heavy rain may lead to street flooding. An additional 1-2″ will be possible.
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 70s to around 80. Rain chance is around 30%.
Weekend: Scattered to numerous showers and storms are expected at times this weekend. For now, we are keeping rain chances around 50-60% on both days. Highs will be in the lower 90s with feels like temps in the 100s.
Monday: Scattered showers and storms are likely. Rain chance is around 50%. Highs in the lower 90s.
Tuesday-Thursday: Rain chance is lower, which means it will be hotter. Highs in the low and mid 90s.
Tracking the Tropics: Two tropical waves in the Atlantic have our attention. Both have a chance for formation through the next 5 days. Stay tuned. No immediate threat to the Gulf of Mexico. Plenty of time to watch. Next names on the list are Nana and Omar.
