StormTracker Forecast…Some areas of patchy fog can be expected early this morning. Other than that, plan on some passing light showers throughout the day. Rain chances are around 30%. Clouds will rule the sky for most of the weekend. Rain chances ramp up to 40% on Saturday as our next rainmaker begins to track toward the region. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid and upper 70s.
A line of showers and isolated storms will move into our area early Sunday morning and afternoon. At this time, organized severe weather is not expected for our area, but that could change. As of now, pockets of heavy rain, along with gusty winds are the potential threats. Once the front passes, temperatures will drop from the 70s to the 50s later in the day. Temperatures will dip into the lower 40s by Monday morning.
We are monitoring the potential for some heavy rain by the mid-week. Some models are hinting at heavy rain as we ring in 2020. The exact timing and intensity are unknown at this time. All in all, next week looks to be much cooler and wet at times.
If you’re traveling to Atlanta to cheer the Tigers on in the Peach Bowl, be sure to pack the rain gear. The same cold front that will move through the Capital City Sunday morning will move into Atlanta on Sunday. A few showers will be possible for tailgating on Saturday.
