Today: It will be a hot and steamy day, and this morning, we’re already off to a muggy start. Highs will rise into the low 90s this afternoon, but it will feel more like the upper 90s to low 100s across most of southeast Louisiana. Fortunately, we’ll stay dray. Winds will be southwesterly at 5-10 mph. High near 91.
Tonight: We won’t get much relief from the heat overnight with temperatures only dropping into the mid 70s. Skies will be partly cloudy with winds out of the west around 5 mph. Low near 74.
Extended: The warm weather will continue over the weekend. Highs will be in the low 90s with plenty of humidity throughout the day and overnight. Remember to practice heat safety by limiting time outdoors and drinking plenty of water. Storms will return on Sunday, but they will be scattered. After that, there will be a daily chance for at least isolated showers and storms. Highs throughout the week will remain in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
