It will be sunny and pleasant today — Thursday’s temperatures were in the 50s and temperatures will be in the 60s today! You will want the jackets if you’ll be outdoors this evening. Temperatures will be in the 50s before dipping into the upper 30s and lower 40s overnight.
Weekend: Mostly sunny and very pleasant on Leap Day. Afternoon temperatures will top out right around 70°F. Clouds will begin to build on Sunday, thanks to high pressure pushing to the east. A few showers may be possible late on Sunday.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with highs in the low and mid 70s. A few afternoon showers will be possible.
Tuesday and Wednesday: Our next system will begin to move into the region. Th timing and intensity of the system are subject to change, but for now, the best chance for rain will come into play late Tuesday and into Wednesday. We will be monitoring the potential for severe weather. The Storm Prediction Center has placed a good portion of the South under a Slight Risk (threat level 2 out of 5) for severe weather. We will be watching closely. Stay tuned for changes.
Thursday: High pressure settles into the region, which will help clear us out and dry us out. Temperatures will be back in the 60s.
