Today: We’ll keep the lovely weather on Friday as we only warm to 80 and cool back into the upper-50s that night. The sunny, dry weather stays in place thanks to the strong influence of a high pressure system.
Weekend: This is when things will slowly warm up. Expect a few more clouds over the weekend with highs back in the low-to-mid 80s and overnight lows in the low-to-mid 60s. The rain still holds off on the weekend so expect it to remain dry. Again, this is thanks to high pressure.
Next Week: Humidity and clouds fully return with highs firmly back in the mid-80s. Showers may be possible by Tuesday and Wednesday, although low in coverage.
Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Sam is a concern off of the west African coast. It is projected to become a major hurricane tomorrow. It is going to head towards the Caribbean or more likely track just north of the Leeward Islands. From there, we will have to watch it closely to see where it goes.
Another tropical wave off of the west African coast has a moderate chance of development.
Other tropical waves in the Atlantic are not a concern to Baton Rouge.
