Tonight – Periods of moderate to heavy rain before midnight. Be careful on the roads. Lows near 62.
Tomorrow – Cloudy and mainly dry for much of the day. Showers return by late afternoon. Expect periods of heavy rain until early Sunday morning. An individual storm could be strong. We sit under a Marginal Risk for severe weather. Highs near 71.
Extended – We’re finally getting closer to the end of this extremely wet pattern. We’ve got a batch of showers tonight with some short spurts of heavy rain. Fortunately for us, we should see a long enough break from the rain to get in the LSU spring game midday tomorrow. Expect the same outlook for Southern and the Bayou Classic up in Shreveport. However, showers return for Saturday evening. Expect more moderate to heavy rain with totals reaching 2-4″. River levels will need to be monitored for the Comite, the Amite and the Tickfaw along with smaller streams and bayous. Numerous points have already reached the minor flooding stage.
Finally by Sunday, we fall into a drier pattern. Monday starts the pattern of several days of sunshine. Rain won’t be a threat until the end of the work week.
Temperatures will consistently sit slightly below normal. Daytime highs will hang in the 70s. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s and possibly 40s for a few nights.
