Tonight – Partly cloudy and mild. Occasional showers. Lows near 75.
Tomorrow – Scattered thunderstorms likely during afternoon. Heat indices near 100°. Highs near 92.
Extended – Tropical Depression Nineteen formed today between SE Florida and the Bahamas. The current track by the NHC takes the system across the southern tip of Florida and into the eastern Gulf. When in the Gulf, the environment becomes more favorable for intensification. Current intensity forecasts call for a strong tropical storm by late Tuesday with a landfall over the northern Gulf Coast. All areas between SE Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle should monitor the progress of the system. The main threat to Baton Rouge will be heavy rain and localized flash flooding. Winds will be stronger near the coast. Coastal flooding is possible.
