Heat Advisory in effect for South Louisiana

A Heat Advisory is now in place for South Louisiana through 7 PM Wednesday evening.

High temperatures and high humidity will lead to heat indices or “feels like temperatures” between 103°F – 108°F. Some spots could have a heat index over 109°F.

This means that dangerous heat is expected through the evening hours.

Be sure to take frequent breaks from the heat, stay cool, stay hydrated, and never leave kids or pets in vehicles. Also, be sure to know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Keep in mind, your pets can get heat stroke, too.
