StormTracker Morning Forecast…
Today: We will be dodging showers and storms today. Some may begin to pop up mid to late morning and then more storms will likely develop during the afternoon and evening hours. Heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty wind will be possible with any stronger storm that develops. It won’t be an all-day washout, but rain coverage will be higher than the weekend, thanks to an area of low pressure to our west. Rain chance is around 60%. Rain coverage will be highest to our west. Heavy rain may lead to localized flash flooding. Otherwise, we’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 80s. Have a “plan b” for any outdoor activities. When thunder roars, go indoors!
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a few area showers. Low near 71.
Tuesday: Rain chances continue to be quite elevated thanks to the area of low pressure to our west and very deep tropical moisture surging in from the Gulf. We’ll see clouds and sun with highs in the mid 80s. Scattered to numerous showers and storms. Rain chance is around 60% to 70%. Again, any storm that develops will have the potential to produce heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty wind. Localized flash flooding will be possible.
Wednesday: Rain chances will continue to be high thanks to the low meandering out to our west. Rain chance is around 70%. Heavy rain will continue to be a threat. High near 82.
Thursday: Rain chances are around 60-70% again. Heavy rain may lead to localized flash flooding. High near 82.
Friday: Rain chances continue to stay high thanks to the same low pressure. This should begin to dissipate as we head into the second half of the weekend. Until then, expect elevated rain chances. High near 85.
Weekend: Rain chances continue to run on the higher side, but it won’t be a washout. Rain chances should taper as we head into Sunday. Rain chances will be around 50% on Saturday and 40% on Sunday with highs in the upper 80s.
Rainfall totals through the next 7 days look to be around 2-4″ with locally higher amounts exceeding 5″.
