StormTracker Forecast…A chilly start to the day, but we have even colder mornings ahead of us. Sunny to mostly sunny skies on this Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday with highs topping out in the upper 40s to lower 50s. A steady wind out of the north will make it feel several degrees cooler. A light freeze is expected for all of the BR Proud area tonight. Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s by daybreak. Be sure to bring your pets indoors. If they absolutely cannot be indoors, provide a warm and dry shelter. The entrance to the shelter must be facing away from the wind. Also, don’t forget to bring your plants indoors. Cover any outdoor vegetation with a sheet.
Tuesday will be similar to Monday, but we may see a few more clouds. Temperatures will be in the lower 50s. Most of the area will drop into the lower 30s once again by Wednesday morning. Some areas south of the I-10/I-12 corridor may only drop to around 34°F or so. Either way, take the same preventative measures by bringing the pets in and covering plants.
We will be tracking our next system Wednesday and into Thursday. The sky will become mostly cloudy on Wednesday, but we should remain dry during the daytime hours. Rain chances ramp up Wednesday night and into Thursday. Total rainfall amounts and potency of this next system are still unknown. Stay tuned!
