StormTracker Forecast…Happy Lundi Gras! A weak cold front will move into the region today. The best chance for rain will come into the forecast this afternoon through the early evening. We are expecting severe weather, but a few thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon. Be sure to bring rain gear to the parades today. Rain chance is near 70% and high temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Tonight: The cold front will pass through tonight, but clouds will linger. Overnight temperatures will dip into the low and mid 50s.
Mardi Gras: Clouds will linger around the Baton Rouge metro and New Orleans. It will be cool in the morning and mild during the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures will top out in the mid and upper 60s. A sprinkle or two will be possible late Tuesday night and into early Wednesday as another front passes. Overnight temperatures will dip into the 40s.
Ash Wednesday: Clouds will clear, yet temperatures will struggle to warm. Temperatures will top out in the mid 50s. A light freeze will be possible for areas north and east of the Baton Rouge Metro Wednesday night and Thursday night. Frost will be likely for a good portion of the area. Your best bet is just to bring the sensitive plants indoors or cover them with a light sheet. Don’t forget about your fur babies!
