Tonight: Overall, it will be a nice and quiet night with lows dropping into the low to mid 70s. Skies will be mostly clear, and winds will be light. Low near 73.
Tomorrow: Sunday will be another hot day, but we’ll stay mostly dry. A few isolated thunderstorms will be possible in the afternoon hours, but it will not be a washout. We could also see strong winds ahead of Tropical Storm Marco. If you have lawn furniture, you should move it indoors before the arrival of these winds. Skies will be partly cloudy with light winds. High near 93.
Extended: Tropical Storm Marco will likely make landfall in Louisiana as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday afternoon. The main impact will be strong winds. Rainfall estimates are under four inches, but higher amounts are possible. Flooding is not a big concern at this time. We’ll continue to see storms on Tuesday along with strong winds. On Wednesday, Laura is expected to make landfall in Louisiana as well. This would likely be as another Category 1 hurricane. The impacts from Laura will be largely dependent on what we see from Marco, so it is too early to pinpoint those impacts. Still, we will likely see heavy rain and strong winds. There is the possibility of downed tree limbs and power lines, which could lead to power outages. Impacts from Laura will continue on Thursday. Our rain chances will decline on Friday and Saturday, but a few storms will be possible.
