Tonight: Clear and cold with morning temperatures in the low and mid 30s. Even if temperatures don’t drop at or below freezing, it will be a good idea to protect your pets and plants.
MLK Day: Very cold start to the day in the lower and mid 30s, but temperatures will moderate and top out in the upper 50s to around 60 by the afternoon. No issues for any outdoor events for MLK Day. Overnight temperatures will be in the mid 30s again.
Tuesday: Cold start again, but it will be a mild day by the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 60s. Overnight temperatures will be much milder thanks to an increase in moisture and cloud cover ahead of a cold front on Wednesday. Overnight temperatures will be in the lower 50s.
Wednesday: A cold front will move in late in the day, but ahead of the front temperatures will still be in the low and mid 70s. Rain is likely during the second half of the day and Wednesday night. Overnight temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s.
Thursday – Weekend: We could have lingering moisture in place and that could lead to either cold rain or possibly some wintry precipitation in the region. Way too early to know for sure, but it bears watching. It all depends on how quickly this system departs the area, amount of moisture in place, and the timing of the cold air. It will be much colder for everyone, either way. Highs in the 40s and 50s on Thursday and 40s Friday and Saturday. It will be windy and cold. Overnight temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s.
