Tonight: Rain is beginning to depart Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes, and by about 8 p.m., a clearing line associated with a weak cold front will move in. This means that clouds will clear overnight, helping temperatures fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds will be light out of the northwest. Low near 40.
Tomorrow: It will be a nice and sunny start to the workweek. We’ll do a complete 180 of what we saw today. Temperatures will be a little warmer tomorrow with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s. This is about six degrees below average. Winds will be northerly at 5-10 mph. High near 60.
Extended: The warm and sunny days will continue through Thursday, and every day, temperatures will get a little higher. We’ll be in the mid 60s, which is near average, on Tuesday. By Wednesday, we’re looking at the 70s. We’ll sit in the low 70s again on Thursday and Friday, but Friday will provide our next chance for showers. The showers are forecast to continue overnight and into Saturday. On Sunday, we’ll stay dry, but it will be a little cooler with temperatures back in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
