Get ready, Baton Rouge! We have a mixed bag of weather this week – including yet another severe weather risk. This week, it will be on Thursday.
Valentine’s Day
If you’re making plans for Valentine’s Day, be sure to add an umbrella or rain jacket to your outfit in case spotty showers develop. The best chance for rain will be later in the evening. One important thing to note – Valentine’s Day will not be a good day for a picnic! Winds will pick up out of the south and southeast between 20 and 25 miles per hour with gusts around 40 miles per hour.

Wednesday
The warm, muggy, and breezy weather will continue into Wednesday. High temperatures will top out near 80 degrees. Widely scattered showers are possible, as well. The best chance for rain will be Wednesday morning and afternoon.

Thursday
Make sure you are weather aware on Thursday! An incoming cold front will bring storms to our area. Some storms may be strong to severe. For now, we are thinking a line of storms will move in during the morning or afternoon and the cold front should pass to our east by the evening. Damaging winds will be the main threat, but localized flash flooding, a tornado, and hail will be possible.

Mardi Gras Weekend
Thankfully, the stormy mess will clear just in time for Mardi Gras weekend! The first half of the weekend will be chilly in the Boot, but we turn much warmer starting Sunday through Mardi Gras Day!
