StormTracker Morning Forecast…
Today: Another beautiful day is in store for us in South Louisiana! It will be warmer than Wednesday, but still very pleasant. Temperatures will top out in the low and mid 70s this afternoon.
Tonight: Clouds will build through the overnight hours, which will keep temperatures from dropping as low as previous mornings. Morning temperatures will be in the low and mid 50s.
Friday: A cold front will begin to enter the region, which will increase cloud cover and rain chances slightly. Rain chance will be around 20% on Friday. Afternoon temperatures will be back in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Weekend: The aforementioned cold front will push through our area early on Saturday before quickly lifting back to the north. Scattered showers and isolated storms can be expected on Saturday. Afternoon temperatures will be in the lower 80s and then mid 80s on Sunday. Rain chances increase to around 60% on Sunday ahead of another frontal system. Storms on Sunday will have the potential to become strong to severe, with the main threat being damaging wind and isolated tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a Slight and Enhanced Risk for severe weather. For now, the timing looks to be Sunday afternoon and evening. The forecast confidence on coverage and intensity is quite low at this time, but we will keep you posted.
Next Week: Rain clears out by Monday morning. We will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday before another system swings into the region on Wednesday.
