A Flash Flood Watch is in effect – an additional 2-4″ with locally higher amounts possible, but all need to prepare for potential flash flooding issues.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in place. Inundation will be around 1-2′ during high tide. Strong easterly wind will cause this for areas near Lake Maurepas and Ponchartrain, as well as near coastal zones. Backwater flooding may become an issue.
Today: Showers and storms are likely at times. Rain chance is around 70-80%. Any additional rain may lead to flooding issues. Can’t rule out gusty wind or even a spin-up tornado. Otherwise, it’s going to be warm and breezy. Highs will be near 80.
Tonight: Scattered rain. Some rain may be on the heavy side. Overnight temperature near 69.
Friday: Scattered showers and storms, but not all areas will see rain thanks to high pressure building to our east. Rain chance is around 50%. High near 81. Overnight temperature near 67.
This Weekend: We finally start to dry out once a stout ridge of high pressure builds to our east and over the region. This means it will be mostly dry and warm. Highs will be in the mid and upper 80s this weekend.
Next Week: We stay dry as we start the week, but a few showers may be around by Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.
