StormTracker Forecast…A chilly start to our Thursday, but temperatures will warm into the upper 60s to lower 70s by the afternoon. No rain is expected today, but we will see more cloud cover than previous days. We’ve got two cold fronts to track over the next week. System #1 will bring scattered showers to our area on Friday, but rain totals will only be around 0.25″. Also, don’t expect a big cool down with the first system (sorry, cold weather fans!) Highs ahead of the front will be in the 70s and highs behind the front will be in the 60s.
This weekend will be pleasant. Mostly cloudy on Saturday with highs in the mid-60s and partly cloudy on Sunday with highs in the lower 70s. Most importantly, we will stay dry.
System #2 will begin to move into the region on Monday, but it is currently not expected to pass through our area until Tuesday. Ahead of the front. highs will top out in the upper 70s. Showers are possible on Monday. Showers are likely on Tuesday before the front passes. Once the front passes, temperatures will be much cooler. Highs will only be in the 50s and 60s.
If you will be traveling on Friday for either the SWAC Championship game in Lorman, Mississippi or for the SEC Championship game in Atlanta, Georgia, you may run into a few showers along the way. Otherwise, no major weather concerns are expected for traveling.
Jag fans, you may want to keep a poncho handy if you’ll be tailgating early. A shower or two may be possible, but the chance is very low. Otherwise, expect cool and mostly cloudy conditions for tailgating and kickoff at 3:00 P.M.. Geaux Jags!
Tiger fans, grab the jackets and sweaters because it will be chilly in Atlanta! Tailgating temperatures will be in the 40s and even during the afternoon, temperatures will likely not get out of the 50s. You may run into some rain on the drive home on Sunday. Geaux Tigers!
