Today: Showers and thunderstorms will continue but will be more scattered in coverage today. We’ll still have high humidity with partly cloudy skies and highs into the mid-80s. Overnight lows will be in the low-70s to upper-60s, depending on cloud cover.
Friday: It will be drier than Thursday with only isolated shower and storm coverage. Partly cloudy skies will remain but likely with just a little more sunshine than clouds. Highs remain in the mid-80s.
Saturday-Sunday: Rain chances remain as more disturbances, ample moisture and daytime heating continue to fuel rain chances. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue with high in the mid-to-low 80s.
Monday-Wednesday: A front may push through Monday or Tuesday. It will likely bring rain on Monday but the question still remains if it will be strong enough to push through. If it can, highs may drop to around 80 with less humidity and drier conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday. Overnight lows could approach 60 degrees. If it can’t push through, the wet, muggy pattern may stick.
Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Sam is a major hurricane that will move north into the Atlantic, away from Louisiana.
Tropical Storm Victor has developed in the east Atlantic and is also not a threat for Louisiana as it will travel north into the open Atlantic.
