A Heat Advisory is in effect from 9 AM to 7 PM Friday. Also, some are under an Excessive Heat Warning. High heat and humidity could put major stress on our bodies and this could quickly lead to heat-related illnesses. Heat index values are expected to be around 108°F to 113°F+. Limit your time outdoors and stay cool and hydrated. Please do not forget about your pets!
High heat, humidity, light wind, Saharan dust, and wildfire smoke from the Pacific Northwest & southern Canada will lead to air quality index (AQI) levels in the moderate category Friday and Saturday. AQI may even exceed 100 at times. If you have asthma or any respiratory illnesses, avoid outdoors as much as you can.
Friday and the Weekend: Spotty showers and storms will be around. Highs will be in the mid and upper 90s, but it will feel like the 100s. We will likely have more heat alerts over the weekend.
Next Week: Incoming cold front will lead to higher rain coverage, which would keep our temperatures down a couple of degrees. We will have monitor the potential for heavy rain.
