Tonight: Mostly clear to start with some clouds filling back in late tonight. Overnight lows will be mainly in the low and mid 40s, but we could warm a couple of degrees prior to sunrise.
Friday: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the mid 70s. It’s going to be more humid. Overnight temperatures will be in the 60s. Areas of fog overnight.
Saturday & Sunday: A couple of showers early Saturday as a cold front enters the region, but a large portion of the area will likely stay dry. The front will likely stall out and lead to clouds on Sunday with low rain chances. Highs near 80 on Saturday and mid 70s on Sunday. Pack the rain jacket if you’re going to the SWAC Championship Game in Jackson, Mississippi as well as the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Bring a regular jacket, too. It will be cool in Atlanta.
Monday – Thursday: Temperatures will continue to be well-above normal in the 70s and 80s. Very low rain chances continue for most of the week, but there may be slightly higher rain chances Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front moves into the region. This front may deliver a cooldown by the weekend. Early projected high temperatures look to be in the 60s again. The middle of December may end up being near normal or even below normal.
Drought Update: Baton Rouge picked up over 10 inches of rain in November, which helped with our drought situation, but Southeast Louisiana is still in a drought. Unfortunately for the drought situation, we are not expecting much rain over the next 7 days.
