Tonight – Strong thunderstorms will eventually fade by early evening. Clouds will decrease. Lows near 76.
Tomorrow – Scattered, strong thunderstorms return tomorrow afternoon. A few individual pockets clouds be strong with some lightning and torrential rain. Highs near 93.
Extended – A drier weather pattern arrives by the weekend. Our daily thunderstorms will become more widely isolated. Temperatures will jump back into the mid 90s. Heat indices will range from 100-107°. Eventually, a cold front could work itself into the viewing area by Tuesday. Beyond the front, temperatures would dip slightly, humidity levels would decrease, and rain chances would drop.
Tropics: Tropical Storm Josephine sits in the central Atlantic. Some gradual strengthening is likely before the weekend. However, over the weekend, Josephine will likely begin it’s downward cycle and could even dissipate by early next week. Josephine will remain in the Atlantic. We’re also monitoring a low off the North Carolina coast for possible development. The disturbance will be no threat to Louisiana.
