BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Our 9th named storm has formed in the northern Caribbean Sea – Hurricane Isaias (pronounced ees-ah-EE-ahs).
Hurricane Isaias will gradually strengthen as it pushes through the Bahamas. The current track remains on the eastern side of Florida and up the Atlantic Coast. Under the current forecast, Louisiana will have no impacts from Isaias.
A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Boca Raton to the Volusia/Brevard County Line Florida, Northwestern Bahamas, Central Bahamas.
A Hurricane Watch is in effect for Hallandale Beach to south of Boca Raton Florida.
A Storm Surge Watch is in effect for Jupiter Inlet to Ponte Vedra Beach Florida.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for North of Ocean Reef to south of Boca Raton Florida and Lake Okeechobee.
A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Flagler/Volusia County Line to Ponte Vedra Beach Florida.
