A tropical wave is expected to emerge off the coast of Africa in a few days. The National Hurricane Center gives it a high chance for development for now. There is plenty of time to watch
A disturbance is expected to move into the southern Gulf in the next few days. Whether it develops or not, it will likely move toward Texas and Louisiana, which means it will bring heavy rain to the northwestern Gulf Coast by early next week. We’re watching closely. This could bring 3-5″ of rain to our area with locally higher amounts possible. The highest totals are currently expected to stay near the coast for now.
Remember, we are in the peak of hurricane season. Stay alert.
