WATCH: Ida continues to weaken near the Louisiana/Mississippi state line

Hurricane Ida rapidly grew in strength early Sunday, becoming a dangerous Category 4 hurricane just hours before making landfall in Louisiana.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Hurricane Ida made landfall along the Louisiana coastline as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. It is now a Category 1 hurricane, as of 1 AM Monday.

TRACK: Ida will continue to track to the north into Mississippi and will continue to weaken.

ALERTS: Hurricane Warnings have been issued for most of the viewing area and Storm Surge Warnings have been issued, as well.

IMPACTS: We could still feel gusty winds and heavy rain, but most of the significant impacts have left the area.
