Today: Today a Heat Advisory will be in place through 7pm for the entire area due to high heat indices expected yet again. The hottest feels-like temperatures will be in the late-morning to early afternoon since in the late afternoon possible showers and thunderstorms could lead to cooler temperatures and possible wet evening commutes. The showers will be more isolated compared to yesterday, so if no rain falls, the heat will continue into the evening. Partly cloudy with highs near 94. Overnight lows in the mid-70s.
Tomorrow: Tomorrow will be hot again (highs near 93). I expect a 30 to 40% coverage of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. This means they will be spotty and hit-or-miss yet again. Overnight lows remain in the mid-70s with mostly clear skies.
Thursday-Friday: Thursday a high-pressure system to our north will cause disturbances along the leading edge of it to sweep through the northern Gulf of Mexico from east to west. These disturbances should increase our rain coverage on Thursday and Friday. Despite this, the influence of the high-pressure system will keep temperatures hot in the mid-to-low 90s.
Weekend: Over the weekend a high-pressure system should move back into the area cutting off moisture from disturbances in the Gulf. We’ll still have the chance for showers and storms but the influence of the high-pressure system should keep rain coverage limited and cause temperatures to get a few degrees hotter than the prior week.
